I chose to dedicate my life to helping the athlete in the cracks, in the shadows, through the moments most do not see. Off the court and in the mind. Being an athlete myself from the age of 3 to 28, I lived and felt what was missing from the game.
Mind you my experience reaches every level in basketball. High school all American, college all American, NBA experience, NBA G-League experience, multiple countries overseas experience, division 1 assistant coaching and scouting experience. That is many different perspectives.
Through my time and the hundreds of stories of teammates and peers in the game. I saw the mental game was always spoken about by coaches to their players, but most time it went over their heads and never truly understood and adopted from within.
How to deal with your emotions, how to understand negative self talk and replace it with positive self talk, how to manifest through setting goals, how to create new habits that serve you, how to be a leader, time management, pre game routines, meditation and visualization, how not to be so hard on yourself on the court and off, developing your non basketball identity.
Athletes at a rapid rate are going through depression after retirement due to a lack of knowing who they truly are while they are playing because basketball tends to become their identify as a teenager and in their 20's. When the ball stops bouncing they can often struggle with what next? We aim to reach the hearts and minds of all athletes during these crucial years to help them development their non basketball or non athlete identity. Showing them by doing so, they actually become better ball players by knowing and understanding themselves more, naturally grows new natural confidence for them to flourish ON AND OFF the court.
